When I first envisioned Radiance Health, I thought that we would be about 10 years in the future: 2035. I had always wanted to open a clinic space, but I never imagined the opportunity would present itself so quickly. After only 21 months of practice, my previous location was dissolving. I had a choice to make, join on with another team, or create a clinic from scratch. In the beginning, I interviewed and contacted many of my Regina contacts and met new people in the health and wellness space; but either the spaces were full, or it didn’t feel quite right. So, I took the leap, and jumped in with both feet.
I don’t know if anyone reading has started a business and can relate, but starting from scratch with no startup money, high student loans, and high costs can feel very scary! There were a lot of chats with my (super supportive) husband talking about if this was the correct path for me, and our life. However, as we continue to grow and build our team, the light at the end of the tunnel gets closer and closer! Now, at 2 years in, standing at this point in the journey, I’m filled with gratitude and pride as I reflect on how far we’ve come and how our future goals come closer within reach.
A Dream Realized: The Vision Behind Radiance Health
The name Radiance came from a deep desire to help people return to their most vibrant, balanced selves. At the time, I was seeing a lot of skin health, which I still do; however, this radiance has grown with my practice and team to include all types of conditions and aspects of health. We see hormonal health, gut health, mental health, and physical ailments with one goal to help people have their health and change the word. Radiance has become not just beautiful healthy skin, but it embodies how I want people to feel: truly healthful, and radiant from the inside - out.
Radiance Health was born from the belief that healthcare should be more than just clinical—it should be caring, connected and truly holistic. I wanted to build a clinic where patients feel supported in all aspects of their well-being, and where practitioners are empowered to practice thoughtful medicine. The integrative healthcare team for me was essential, to make sure that patients can heal truly heal in a multifactorial way. I love to be able to connect my patients with acupuncture, massage, and counselling to really address the physical, emotional, and biochemical components of health.
Growing With Purpose: Milestones and Wins
There have been so many meaningful milestones since our doors opened. I still remember the quiet excitement of my first day—the first phone call, the first patient booking.
Since then, we’ve grown steadily and intentionally. We’ve built out systems to make care more seamless. We’ve welcomed practitioners who are deeply aligned with our values and patient wellness. And we aren’t done yet. One of my goals for the upcoming year is to help make our practice even more collaborative and integrative. We’ve also added some new faces the last couple of months, and I am so thrilled to see our clinic building out to what I had always hoped that it would be.
We've had a lot of patient wins too! One of the biggest wins we all feel is when we hear from patients who tell us they finally feel heard and cared for, often for the first time in years. We love hearing how well our medicine is working, reading those reviews, and feeling the impact of our clinic on your lives. That is, without a doubt, one of the greatest wins of all.
The Power of Team and Community
One of the most rewarding aspects of running Radiance Health has been watching our team come together. The dedication, warmth, and professionalism of each person—whether they're at the front desk or in the treatment room—brings our mission to life every single day.
I truly believe that our team isn't just here to work; they are here because they care. Of course we all need to work to live, but not many people go to school to be in the healthcare space, and dedicate their life’s work and energy to provide patient health and wellness. That positive energy is felt by everyone who walks through our doors. I’ve also been deeply moved by the support we’ve received from our local community—patients who refer their loved ones, fellow professionals who collaborate with us, and family who champions what we’re doing.
It truly takes a village, and I’m so proud of ours.
Lessons Learned and Looking Ahead
There have been many challenges along the way (as there always are with any new venture), but each one has offered its own lesson. I’ve learned that it’s possible to run a clinic that blends evidence-based care with compassion-centered practice. And I’ve learned the power of holding both structure and softness—of having clear systems and health goals, but never losing the ever important human connection.
As we look to the future, there are so many exciting ideas ahead—more ways to support our patients, new services to explore, and a continued commitment to nurturing a space where everyone feels seen and supported.
Thank you to every person who has been part of this journey so far. Radiance Health is a living reflection of me and my passion, but also of something much bigger than me—and I can’t wait to see where we go next.
With love,
Dr. Larissa
